Before You Read My Story, Here’s What My Couples Want You To Know.
“If you’re looking for an adventure elopement photographer who just gets it — someone talented, down-to-earth, and genuinely invested in creating an unforgettable experience — Kelly is the one.”

Why I Photograph Adventure Elopements
Adventure elopements are where everything I love comes together: Being outside. Connecting with people. Documenting your day in a way that feels like art.
I believe your wedding day should make you feel proud, safe, excited, and grounded, not like a performance built around traditions you never wanted.
I know that eloping isn’t about doing less.
It’s about making space for what matters most on your wedding day.
I know that because I eloped too.
My elopement looked like this: Sunrise, barefoot on the beach, sand in my dress, champagne at 8am, an afternoon nap, and a campfire to end the day.
Somewhere in the middle of that morning I remember thinking, this is exactly how a wedding day should feel.
Stress-free. Meaningful. Completely ours.
That moment changed the way I see weddings, and it’s the reason I care so deeply about helping my couples create a day that feels just as right for them.
Eloping isn’t just the work I do. It’s the wedding day I chose for myself.
And I want every couple I work with to walk away feeling the same way I did:
Like eloping was one of the best decisions they ever made.
Why Couples Trust Me With Their Elopement
An elopement may feel simple in the best way, but it still takes the right planning to bring it all together.
You deserve to trust that the person helping you get there knows exactly what they’re doing.
I’m a local
I live in Grand Junction, Colorado – a city close to the mountains of Colorado and only 30 miles from the deserts of Utah. I know this area well, from the iconic views to the quieter spots that offer more privacy.
Elopements are my specialty
I’ve photographed elopements full time for 6 years. This is the work I know, love, and do best.
Trusted by 120+ couples
After helping 120+ couples elope, I’ve built a process that makes things easy, fun, and stress-free.
I keep my calendar intentionally small
I only take on 20 elopements each year so every couple gets the attention they deserve, and I block off three days for each one in case weather or conditions change.
5 Star Rated
With 75+ 5 star reviews, my couples’ words speak to the kind of experience I care deeply about creating.
13 years with a camera
I’ve had a camera in my hand for 13 years and know the best photos come from comfort, trust, and real connection.
I love dogs
I’ve photographed 47 dogs and counting, so if your pup is part of the plan, just know I’m very into that.
And maybe most importantly… my own elopement experience shapes the way I support my couples today
I know what it feels like to choose something different and realize it was without a doubt the right decision.
I’ll be your #1 cheerleader, confidant, and calm presence through the entire process.
I’ve lived it myself. So when I say I get it, I really mean it.
What it’s like to work with me
How I guide you through the day:
I’ll help you feel comfortable by giving you direction when it’s helpful, and then step back as much or as little as needed as the day unfolds. I’ll cue you when you need it, hype you up when the moment calls for it, and disappear when a moment deserves privacy. My job is to make being present feel easy.
How I guide you through photos:
Most couples tell me they feel awkward in front of a camera — and that’s completely normal. The good news is that most of the time you won’t need to worry about posing at all. When you’re somewhere beautiful with the person you love, a lot of moments happen naturally. When I do give prompts, they’re simple and relaxed so nothing feels forced or uncomfortable.
How I adventure:
A mix of candids, wide landscapes, documentary moments, and a few gently guided portraits with a focus on letting the story show up in the images: wind-blown hair, muddy boots, happy tears, goofy giggles, and the quiet moments where everything finally sinks in.
What I capture:
A mix of candids, wide landscapes, documentary moments, and a few gently guided portraits with a focus on letting the story show up in the images: wind-blown hair, muddy boots, happy tears, goofy giggles, and the quiet moments where everything finally sinks in.
The photos you’ll walk away with:
The ones that make you say, “we really freaking did that,” and make your friends and family feel like they were right there with you. They’re reflections of your personality, love, and the landscapes that framed it — a work of art you’ll want to have and to hold.
Who I’m for:
Couples escaping tradition. Plan-it-two-years-in-advance-ers. Last-minute elopers. First-timers to Colorado or Moab. Outdoorsy people. Non-hikers. And most importantly: All couples, cultures, colors, creeds, abilities, experiences, and ways of being. I’m LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC welcoming and expect my couples and vendor recommendations to be the same.
More Things You’ll Love About Working With Me
Ordained wedding officiant
I’m a legally recognized minister through the ULC, so I can sign your marriage license to make things legit.
Thrive graduate
I’m always investing in myself so I can serve my couples better. As a thrive graduate through adventure instead academy, I’ve been trained in crafting meaningful, personalized elopement experiences.
Leave no trace certified photographer
My job depends on public lands, so protecting them is important to me. I’ll walk you through the steps, and how we are going to keep the land as we found it.
All love stories are welcome here
This is a safe space where all love is celebrated. You’re welcome here exactly as you are, and your story will be honored, respected, and documented with care.
I know the outdoors
I’m just as comfortable in the wilderness as I am in my living room. Location scouting, maps, GPS, topo, everything that it takes to adventure, I’ve got it dialed in. I’m also CPR/first- aid certified.

Life outside of elopements
I live on the western slope of Colorado, about an hour and a half from places like Telluride, Ouray, and Moab. Living here makes it easy to get outside whenever I want, whether that’s mountain biking after work, camping for the weekend, snowboarding in the winter, or floating the Colorado River when the weather is good.
You’ll find me outside just as often as you’ll find me at home snuggling my two perfect dogs (Olive & Hamilton) while binging a Netflix show, reading, or experimenting with sourdough while listening to music in the background.
During busy elopement seasons I live out of my Ford Transit van, camping in the mountains of Colorado or the Moab desert, so I’m never far from the places my couples are coming here to explore.
Spending so much time in these landscapes has given me a deep connection to them, and I think that connection shows up in the way I photograph my couples within them.
“She captured our day in the heart of the San Juan Mountains like a true artist.
The vibrant golden aspens, shimmering alpine lakes, and the dramatic contrast of red iron ore became the most stunning backdrop, and Kelly made every frame come alive. She has a gift for finding magic in nature and in the moment, and it shows in every photo.”
